Graduate School Application Deadlines

Applying to Graduate School:

Applying to graduate school can be a time consuming process. Plan ahead! Keep track of what needs to be turned in and when it is due to guarantee that you stay on schedule.

Graduate School Application Calendar:

Junior Year

Spring:

• Start researching potential schools/programs.
• Determine what tests are required for admission, and take a practice test to evaluate potential levels of weakness.

Summer:

• Visit campuses.
• Beginning drafting your statement of purpose.
• Order applications from choice programs.
• Ask about financial aid deadlines and required applications.
• Take required admissions test.

Senior Year

Fall:

• Choose and contact recommenders. Send them all necessary information.
• Finalize and polish statement of purpose.

Winter:

• Complete and submit all applications. Keep copies of everything you send.
• Verify that your recommendations have been sent.
• Fill out and submit FAFSA (no earlier than January 1^st).
• Submit any forms required by your school's financial aid office.

Spring:

• Award letters received.
• If necessary, apply for additional loans.
