Eligibility

Student must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident and must have earned a bachelors degree.They must be a teacher, or plan to become a teacher, of American history, American government, or social studies at the secondary school level (grades 7-12). They must wait for at least three years from the time that any previous graduate degree was awarded before applying for a James Madison Fellowship.

How to apply

Students must submit completed online application form. In addition, they must submit two letter of recommendation and transcripts. All the above documents must be sent to James Madison Fellowship Program/59, 301 ACT Drive, Iowa City, IA 52245.
